TO MAKE A LIFE CHOICE

Morsø Fires, a Danish designed and made brand created by Niels Andreas Christensen.  This company was originally created under the name Morsø Foundry in 1853.

They produced all sorts of products, from stable windows, grave crosses and tools to saucepans, pots and pans. It wasn’t until the 1950’s, when tiled stoves were replaced by central heating, making space for wood-burning stoves. Today Morsø has developed into a global design company that brings warmth and comfort to homes around the world.

The Morsø wood-burning stove has always been crafted from cast iron. All stoves expand as they get hot, which can cause warping. However, cast iron transfers heat very slowly, which makes it well-suited to changing temperatures. So, a Morsø cast-iron stove doesn’t twist or skew when it heats up. These wood burning fireplaces aren’t welded, as that may weaken them. Alternatively, Morsø bind them with ceramic string and bolt them together with screws, so the stove will always have a perfect seal.

When you describe your relationship with your Morsø in a few years’ time, it won’t be the design, cast iron or environment which will fuel your fondness. By then, your stove will have long become one of the best-loved items of furniture in your home. To choose a Morsø is, in other words, to make a choice for life.
