In simple terms a Wood heater has a door (usually with a glass window) which seals the combustion chamber. The supply of air needed for the wood to burn is introduced through adjustable air intake vents. In this way the burn rate of the wood can be adjusted. The objective is to achieve overnight burn and have a fire that never goes out completely and is continuously emmiting heat.

There are hundreds of wood heater models in the marketplace ranging from budget models to the exclusive top end. But be aware, this is certainly a market where "you get what you pay for" so choose carefully.
